Xbox 360 is the second video game console made by Microsoft, and it is the successor of Xbox. The competitors of Xbox 360 are Sony’s Playstation 3 and the Wii by Nintendo. these are the seventh generation video game consoles. The official release of Xbox 360 was done on MTV on May 12, 2005, which gave a detailed launch and the gaming information was given later that month at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3). The console was sold immediately after the release everywhere, except Japan. On January 2010, Xbox 360 has sold 39 million consoles worldwide. Currently Xbox 360 is available in two configurations the Elite and the Arcade with accessories.

The features are a port on the top, and a custom housed hard drive unit, which can be attached in sizes of 20, 60, 120, or 250 GB. A new Xbox 360 interface was introduced called the New Xbox Experience (NXE) by Aaron Greenberg and Marc Whitten. The reason behind this update was to ease the console menu navigation. The NXE has many new features like installation of games in the hard drive, built-in community system. The built-in community system allows one to make avatars with many multiple activities.

Steps:
To turn on the Xbox 360 and wireless controller and the Xbox 360 console, you will have to press the Xbox guide button on the controller.
To switch on only the console, you will have to press the power button on the console.
To turn on the Xbox wireless controller, press the START button on the controller
If your Xbox 360 does not get switched on, check the power indicator light it is located on the center of the of your Xbox 360 console. If there is no power supply to the console, the light of the indicator will be off, also the fans.
Press the power button. The power button is situated right in the middle of your gaming console. If the Xbox 360 is functioning properly then the power will turn on.
Press on the eject button on the console disc drive. If the console starts when you perform this function, but does not work when you use the power button, check if the console faceplate is fixed properly. To check how to fix the faceplates go the Microsoft site and you will know how to fix it.
If the above step does not solve the problem, check the power cord, which connects to your console and the power outlet. Disconnect and then reconnect it at each end, just to ensure that it is fixed properly.
If the problem continues, check if the power cord is plugged to some other device, except for the typical outlet.
If there is no connection problem at all, check the light on the console of Xbox 360. a green light will indicate that the power supply is functioning properly. If the light is not green then try troubleshooting your Xbox 360.
If the Xbox still does not switch on then it needs servicing.
